Continuous labor support has been found to speed labor progress
and reduce the use of unnecessary interventions.
At the WHBC a Certified Nurse Midwife is typically present throughout the
active stage of labor, and a nurse or Licensed Midwife arrives prior to the birth
to give additional assistance.
We also have a volunteer Doula program for women who would like extra support.
