The tour shows the Birth Center family room, two birth rooms, supplies at the ready and the examination room. The Birth Center has an outdoor space for family and laboring moms who want a little fresh air and sunshine. Volunteers help us keep the outside area beautiful.

Sometimes babies aren’t in the ideal head down position, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be persuaded to change position. Sonya tried everything from an ironing board to frozen peas to encourage Seva, and it worked!

At WHBC, women take an active role during labor, deciding how they want to be positioned and how active they prefer to be. The Birth Center offers group and private classes to prepare women and their partners for the pre– and post–partum experience. Continuous support during active labor speeds the process and cuts down on unnecessary procedures. Volunteer doulas are also available.

These photos show a water birth at the Birth Center. Water immersion is a popular choice as it helps many women relax. Click this link or the photo at right to see the slideshow.


A new baby in the family!

Mom Seasyn says: ”Thank you so much for everything it was truly an amazing experience! The photo slideshow tells more of what really goes on with a birth at the birth center ... and hey, Rosanne, you look so fancy!“

Rosanne says: ”This baby flew out! I was still in my dress and pumps!“
